Starting with Mail, the latest and greatest feature Apple added to the mix is Undo Send. It comes in handy if you send an email and discover a typo, or a forgotten email attachment. When you first use the feature there is a 10 second period after hitting Send that it can be undone. Pretty cool huh? But that time can be changed to longer in the settings section.
Customizing Your Undo Window
Here’s the places on the IOS device and Mac where changes are made.
You can adjust the window of opportunity to fit your workflow:
Mail Settings: Navigate to Mail > Preferences > Composing (on Mac) or Settings > Mail > Undo Send Delay (on iPhone/iPad).
Undo Send Delay Menu: Here, you can choose from various options like "Off" (no undo window), "3 seconds," "5 seconds," or "10 seconds." Select the delay that best suits your comfort level.
Big limitation: It only works with your Apple Mail account. Now Gmail, Yahoo and other mail providers have their own versions of undo send. These are not. Covered here. So having Outlook, Gmail and others set up in Apple Mail might have this feature added soon.
To use the feature in Apple Mail, You must have Ventura Version 13 or later on the Mac or IOS or PadOS V. 16 or later.
We will be adding more to this page as it becomes available. Undo send is also available in Messages. And along with many more features. Stand by for a report on that feature coming up too.
